One of my greatest loves in life is a strong cappuccino, and when I get to combine my love of coffee with my passion for senior portrait photography I am about as excited as I can be. This session was a stylized session created with my Against the Grain Senior model Maddie. She loved the idea of a more urban setting, and I wanted a little bit of a warm, fall atmosphere to highlight the cooler weather that will be coming our way very soon. Maddie’s outfit choices were spot in for this session, and her glasses and chic look really set the scene for our early morning shoot. We arrived very early in the morning at Ivy Wild in the southwest part of the Springs . Ivy Wild is one of my favorite spots in Colorado Springs, not only for their amazing cappuccinos (and that heart design, seriously!), but the entire atmosphere is so me. If you haven’t visited Ivy Wild yet, I highly recommend you do. This historic building was a former elementary school built in 1916. The building has been repurposed into a beautiful community marketplace that has creatively remained true to the original design of the elementary school. It really is so very unique to our city, and I hope you do visit it at some point! So I’m excited to share the results of this stylized senior portrait session with you!I really love the old urban feel that Ivy Wild has and their gorgeous open windows really inspired some creative shots for us this session. Maddie is such a sweet and beautiful teen. I have loved working with her this season, and I bet we pull off a couple of other fun shoots together before the year is out.
