This week my nephew Mason turned 2. I knew kids grew up fast but had no idea how fast until I had my own!
My throwback this week is of Mason from last summer when he was about Sawyer’s age now. He, his mom, dad, and grandma came to visit us in July which was the first time in Colorado for most of them!
We wanted to squeeze in as much Colorado-awesomeness as we could so we spent time everywhere we could from The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to Air Force Academy Chapel. I knew I wanted to make sure we had time to do at least 1 family photo session that week so we just used that as an excuse to visit a few more Colorado Springs favorites! We started our session at Ute Valley Park then drove over to Garden of the Gods to finish up. I love both parks and am so glad I live in a place with amazing open spaces and protected parks.
Mason had quickly moved from walking to running and so most of the pictures we took of him that week were of him in full motion. We walked (or rather ran!) around Garden of the Gods in the evening ,which is just gorgeous for photos, and let the little guy run and play. I kept my shutter at a fast speed so I could catch those quick little moves of his.
We got so many beautiful images, but here are a few of my favs! Of course in keeping with the Fatherhood Photo Project theme, I have to say that I just LOVE the one of him and his daddy.
And here’s to #tbt and #fbf on a Saturday!
I’m heading out this weekend for a few more sessions that I can’t wait to share! Plus, a little family photo session of my own with Steve and Sawyer while I try my hand at being in the pictures by using my camera’s shutter button remote!
Hope you have a great weekend and get to enjoy beautiful weather wherever you are today!
P.s. Just a little reminder for our weekend…Hope your day is beautiful!
