Lifestyle Photography has become a common, modern type of photography that has actually been around for quite a while in the form of photojournalism. It is all over Pinterest, and rightly so because it is a very moving and beautiful type of art. I don’t want to try to define what this type of session means for other photographers, or what it should or shouldn’t be in general. I want to describe what a lifestyle photography session is with me, and why I love to photograph this style so much.
So this is strictly my vision for a lifestyle session with you and your family.
Have you ever woken up on a Monday morning and thought how is it Monday already? Where did the week go? You remember fractured glimpses of your hectic week like packing the kids’ lunches, or taking the dog for a walk, or Saturday morning pancakes and cartoons. Yet a week chock full of appointments, schedules, practices, and homework run together into a muddy, fading memory. Somewhere in that busy week between the dirty dishes and the argument you had to break up between your kids, your family lived and discovered, laughed and cried, and had many firsts together. You wish you could remember each and every second of those messy and mundane, yet beautiful days. You wish you could freeze forever those beautiful, normal moments because those are the moments that show who your family really is.
These sessions are meant to document you and your family in your daily normal. The session is created to show your family’s connections and love that your share together.
It is about documenting your family’s personality and way of living together; comfortably and safely in an environment that showcases the things you love doing together the most. No posing or fake smiles…
just your road, your home, your family.
So in preparing for your lifestyle session, don’t worry about the messy house or everyone smiling perfectly for the camera…just be you. My hope for you and your family is that you are able to relax, have fun, and enjoy the session unlike any other photo session you’ve had before.
So let’s do this! I’d love to photograph your family’s real moments! Email me at email@example.com to book!
